Organic Farm

The Sonnberghof has been biologically cultivated since 1992. We are members of the Ernteverband Salzburg association. The farm has always been producing delicacies for its guests.
Goods like beef, sausages, cheese, yoghurt, jam, herbs etc. are produced under the special guidance of Mr. Holzer and Mr. Riedelsberger. The farm also guarantees its guests an unspoilt, panoramic and quiet location – something that is not to be taken for granted.

According to EU regulations, organic farms are strictly controlled in Austria. The Sonnberghof meets all these criteria. These are some of the most significant quality features:

• 100% biological feeding
• appropriate livestock husbandry
• 100% organic fertilisation
• minimum of 160 days of free-range keeping
• natural cure, no pharmaceuticals

The Sennigerbraeu Alp, located in the romantic Hollersbachtal, also belongs to the Sonnberghof. From May to September, our cows are kept on the mountain pastures, and our son Thomas Holzer manages the alp. The Enjoyment Package and the Bauernherbst week include a visit to him. A tasteful meal in a cosy atmosphere awaits us there.

Herbs make the body feel well!
This is why we cultivate our own herbal garden. Rosemary, melissa, majoram, camomile, thyme, feverfew, lady’s mantle, sugarleaf and many more. Your eyes and nose will be spoilt in our herbal garden!
