Excursion Diary / Hollersbach Valley – Taxi Transfer to the Senninger Alm

The Hollersbach Valley is a very special excursion tip for our guests – a peaceful Alpine retreat where nature lovers can immerse themselves in the stunning landscapes of Hohe Tauern National Park and enjoy the beauty of the Austrian Alps at a leisurely pace.

Even better, the Valley Taxi is included with the National Park Summer Card. This convenient service takes you comfortably into the heart of the valley, allowing you to start your hike completely stress-free and enjoy the beauty of the Austrian Alps from the very beginning.

Those who prefer to explore on foot can follow the charming Stream Nature Trail. Surrounded by breathtaking Alpine scenery, the path winds through groves of grey alder trees, lush mosses, and ferns. Along the way, thoughtfully designed information boards provide fascinating insights into the region’s native flora and fauna, making this an enjoyable experience for both adults and children.

At the end of the trail, a very special destination awaits: the rustic Senningerbräu Alm. Following historic stone walls, you arrive at this traditional mountain hut, where a cozy parlour and a sunny terrace invite you to relax and unwind. Hosts Thomas and Margit Holzer delight visitors with regional and seasonal specialties, making it the perfect place to enjoy an authentic Alpine break.

For those who wish to continue their adventure, the hike can be extended to the Neue Fürther Hut, which is approximately 2.5 hours on foot from the Senninger Alm. The trail rewards hikers with spectacular mountain scenery and an unforgettable experience in the heart of Hohe Tauern National Park.

For the return journey, you can either follow the Stream Nature Trail once again, take the parallel forest road, or simply enjoy a comfortable ride back with the Valley Taxi.

Our tip: Be sure to try the homemade Kaiserschmarren at the Senningerbräu Alm. This traditional Austrian dessert is a true delight and the perfect reward after a day of hiking in the mountains.
