Steam rises from the 96°F Heaven Pool, the Hohe Tauern mountains shimmering softly in the background – and suddenly a deep sense of contentment, grounding, and bliss spreads through you. In summer, our beloved Pinzgauer cows join in, watching curiously as you glide peacefully through the pool.

Something happens when you stand here. Your gaze drifts over the mountains – for some, it sparks a thrill, the anticipation of exploring the 3000-meter peaks. Others are happy just to admire them from afar; the thought of climbing sends shivers of fear. Some lose themselves in thought, simply staring up at the Tauern.

Yet many describe a similar feeling, one that seems to settle quietly within them: deep gratitude, contentment, a serene bliss. Exactly in that moment, as you take in this pure, wild, and breathtaking landscape – our Hohe Tauern – that bliss fills you. And here at Gut Sonnberghof, we feel it every single day. It doesn’t fade; on the contrary, each glance, each day in the Tauern makes it even more intense.

Peace All Around

Sometimes a bee hums by, sometimes a cow moos, sometimes a hearty, joyful laugh carries across the meadow. But for the most part, our wellness area is wonderfully quiet. Surrounded by a five-hectare panoramic meadow, where only our four-legged friends wander, there’s no hustle, no noise.

And that’s exactly what makes time in our wellness area so special. We take pride in it – and we’re determined to preserve it. In the calm, you find your own calm, learning to truly live in the moment. And sometimes, your thoughts even quiet down completely. This is the feeling we wish for all our Sonnberghof guests as they enjoy their time to unwind.

Space to Relax

We want everyone to find their own little haven. Five saunas, five relaxation rooms, two pools, and our natural swimming pond offer a favorite spot for every guest. Whether in the icy pond or on the Heaven Swings, where your thoughts soar high above the valley – our wellness area is deliberately designed so there’s always plenty of space. Even when the hotel is full, everyone can find their cozy, quiet corner.
